FIIS school emphasizes the responsibility of guiding students to exhibit good behavior, make sound choices, and make effective decisions as part of their overall development. It not only reinforces positive behavior, but also correct wrong behavior in a way that respects the dignity and individuality of the student.

For the sake of discipline and safety, the school constantly monitors the movement of students all around during breaks, on the bus, during school activities. Students are expected to adhere to the principles of respect, honesty and courtesy towards others at all times.

  1. Respectful behavior towards all members of the School community is expected.
  2. Always care, cooperate, and show good sportsmanship.
  3. Abusing, backbiting, harassing, bullying or physically harming others are all unacceptable.
  4. Inappropriate behavior in class indicates lack of respect for the school community; consequently, it will subject the person responsible to penalty.

Please keep all furniture in good condition by not writing or scratching the surfaces. Any damage done to school property will result in monetary compensation for repairs or replacement. Intentional sabotage of school property or that of others will result in subjecting the person responsible to a disciplinary action.

Toys, comics, make-up, jewelry, perfume, DVD players, electronic games, magazines and other personal, non-related items are not permitted at school. Also, cell phones are prohibited at school. Any of the mentioned items, if found on campus, will be confiscated. Any confiscated items will be returned to parents at the first time, and will be confiscated till the end of the year if repeated.

  • Wearing a uniform gives the school the professional look it deserves and helps maintain a disciplinary atmosphere that positively impacts student engagement. This will help to reduces socio-economic issues among students and allows them to focus more on their studies.
  • Students of all grades are required to wear the school uniform all the time in the school, unless a notice is sent by the school permitting casual address for a dress-down day. Certain activities may require specific clothing like sports suit.
  • Visible body piercings, tattoos, and nail polish are not acceptable on campus. Hats are for outdoor activities only.

Students are required to wear appropriate clothing and shoes for PE classes, including swimming in accordance with school uniform requirements. The PE uniform can be worn all day on days when PE classes are held.

Discipline

All students are expected to follow school rules and regulations. Students who misbehave will receive a verbal warning for the first time. This is to give them the opportunity to reflect on and change negative behaviors.

  • If it happens again, a second warning will be issued and the parent will be notified.
  • In the third time, the student will be subjected to a penalty according to the action committed and the parent will be called to discuss the student’s misbehavior and ways to improve it. In more serious cases, the principal may arrange an in-school suspension or out-school suspension.

In-school suspension means that the student attends the school, yet he or she will not be allowed into the classroom and will be seated alone in a specified area to finish given tasks. However, the student will be provided the student with the material taught that day.

Homework is an important tool for assessing student learning. Teachers can provide quick feedback to modify teaching and naturally fill gaps in student learning. If your homework is not turned in by the deadline, the school will take the following steps:

  1. Verbal warning given to student for the first time.
  2. Break Detention and Parent Notification for the second time.
  3. Summoning of parent for Conference to sign a warning for the third time.
  4. In-school suspension.
  5. Out-school suspension.
  1. Student to be given a verbal warning as well as having the parent informed of the committed violation.
  2. Parents would be contacted to pick up student.
  3. Suspend student attendance until parents show a commitment to ensure proper dress code.

Any of non-school items, such as phones or tablets, will be confiscated and parents will be asked to come to take them. If it is important for a student to bring his/her mobile phone, please let the front desk know. In this case, the mobile phone will be handed over to the person in charge of the stage and submit it to the student when leaving.

  3. Depriving from bus services for 1 day, and if repeated again the student will not be allowed to use the bus service for the rest of the year.

  2. If the damage is irreversible, internal suspension till the parent pays for repairing the damage.

Out-school suspension from 1-3 days according to the violation.

  1. Deprive of a PE session and is assigned tasks, parent is to be notified.
  2. Contact parents.
  3. Parent conference.
  4. In-school suspension.
  5. Out of school suspension.
  1. In case of cheating, the student gets a zero and will not be allowed to retake the test.
  2. In case of plagiarism and copying of assignments; the student will be asked to resubmit the assignment according to a schedule provided by the teacher.

Learner attributes are the qualities, skills, and characteristics that make up an individual and expect how he will act in his life. we decide to focus on the following attribute to guide our practices and make sure we are shaping our students as we expect. Students are informed by them to can recognize their progression which gives them confidence and independence in their studies. We support those attributes through teaching practices in all areas of learning. For instance, while students do their project at the end of a learning unit, they are asked to create solutions for an issue or a problem they studied in the unit, then they present the process and steps they went through and they work in groups. So that they collaborate with each other’s and feel confident in what they are doing.
